About

Rachel Salamanca serves as a consultant with Lapin International. Focusing at the intersect of competence, character and connection, Rachel partners her clients in a thought-provoking, creative, and collaborative process that inspires them to maximize their human potential. She is well-respected in the realms of professional and leadership development, with deep experience in the criminal justice and public safety sectors. Rachel brings specialization in the areas of human relations, strategic communication, and leadership growth as she has influenced the development of thousands of leaders to connect to the humanness in themselves and others while bridging the big picture to their immediate sphere of influence, where they can make an impact.

Rachel has most recently served as the Director of the Tools for Tolerance® for Law Enforcement Program, an award-winning professional development program of the Museum of Tolerance. She led a team that develops and delivers training for criminal justice professionals and public safety at the local, state, and federal level nationwide.

Valued for her deep knowledge and experience, Rachel has worked with the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (CA POST) collaborating with other experts on curriculum development and video scenario training for De-escalation, Officer Wellness, Racial and Identity Profiling as well as Principled Policing and Procedural Justice. She is also a CA POST certified instructor for Biased-Based Policing and Principled Policing.

Prior to her work with the Museum of Tolerance, Rachel was a United States Probation Officer for ten years serving in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles, CA. Rachel has an M.A. degree in Education with an emphasis in Counseling from San Diego State University and a B.A in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego.

Her personal commitment to professional and leadership development led her to embark on and complete an intensive two-year Team Management and Leadership Program through Landmark Worldwide. In her spare time, Rachel continues her own personal growth as a member of Toastmaster’s International.
